Just a few minutes ago I received the following email from a prospective leads client. I think it raises valid questions and thought it could be of interest to others so I’ve edited out some of the names for privacy reasons. other than that the email is original and my response follows.
Hope its helpful and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hello Don,
My name is Bill and I stumbled upon your site last night.
I’m new to network marketing and have just recently joined [Name Deleted for Privacy] and [Name Deleted for Privacy].
My advertising has been limited to co-op purchases on [Name Deleted for Privacy] which is running me $367 per month. So far, I’ve received 42 leads.
I’m looking for a more cost effective way of moving people to my websites. What would you suggest?
If I buy your leads, would you recommend that I call them, direct them to my website or both? Are your leads they type that I should be purchasing for these Companies? If I buy large quantities of leads, how could I email them my website without having to do each one individually?
I really appreciate any help that you can forward me. Of all the lead websites that I’ve examined, yours came across as the most sincere and believable. The fact that my father’s name is Don, clinched it. Ha!
Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill
Thanks for writing, its always good to receive a genuine question.
$367 does seem a lot for 42 leads, but of course I have no idea of their quality. If they join you and make you money then I’m sure they are worth it. That’s what a lot of people fail to recognize; leads need to be measured and the ROI determined. For example if leads cost you $367 per month but return $1,000 then they are a good investment. If they return less than what they cost then they are a bad investment and something needs to change.
There are a few variables involved with leads and handling leads. Some of those variables are: how were the leads generated, when were they generated, what incentives, if any were used to generate them, what information has the lead provided, what is the leads motivation, how much do they have to invest. These are all factors which go toward the quality of a lead.
Another variable is you. Yes you. How good are you at contacting leads? Who trained you? How easily do you relate to people? Etc etc. Most people dislike being critical of themselves and therefore fail to improve in the crucial area of relating to the lead. Often its not the quality of the leads that is the problem but the quality of the approach to the lead.
Improving the quality of the lead and the quality of the approach can dramatically improve the ROI of the leads.
I have an article I wrote called “How To Get The Best From Your MLM Leads” which can be found here http://www.apacheleads.com/best_of_leads.html I believe this article could be helpful.
Another article I wrote which will point you in the direction of being able to email thousands of leads automatically is
called “How To Use AutoResponder Leads To Contact Thousands Of Leads Every Day and can be found here http://www.apacheleads.com/how-to-use-autoresponder-leads.html the article even contains links to an autoresponder service I recommend.
All the leads available on our site have opted in via specific advertisements placed on search engines and associated network websites. All the leads come with full contact information and are date/time stamped. The leads are opportunity seekers and are interested in hearing from you.
We also cover any bad leads by providing you an extra 10% of leads for free.
I trust this information will be of assistance to you Bill and look forward to working with you in the near future.
Kind regards
Don Reid
