Jack Ma Poor People are the worst people to serve

Ok hold onto your hats, this is a pretty harsh post from China’s richest man and owner of Alibaba.

I’m pretty certain that if you have gotten a few dozen business presentations under your belt you are likely to agree with Jack’s sentiments.  I have to say I agree with him 100%.  Broke people love to make excuses and rationalize their lack of courage and action thus condemning themselves for a life of regret.

I recently saw this quote attributed to Jack Ma, founder of the gigantic Alibaba empire, I hope you get something from it.

Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba said “The worst people to serve are the poor people. Give them free, they think it’s a trap. Tell them it’s a small investment, they’ll say can’t earn much. Tell them to come in big, they’ll say no money. Tell them try new things, they’ll say no experience. Tell them it’s traditional business, they’ll say hard to do. Tell them it’s a new business model, they’ll say it’s MLM. Tell them to run a shop, they’ll say no freedom. Tell them run new business, they’ll say no expertise.

They do have some things in common:

They love to ask google, listen to friends who are as hopeless as them, they think more than an university professor and do less than a blind man.

Just ask them, what can they do. They won’t be able to answer you.

My conclusion:

Instead of your heart beats faster, why not you just act faster a bit; instead of just thinking about it, why not do something about it. Poor people fail because of one common behavior:

Their Whole Life is About Waiting.”

  1. Hello Don,

Yes I do agree, however, if they would listen to and begin reading self development/self improvement materials and have a change in mindset, their outer world will change. If we really care about others, whoever they may be, rather than casting them aside I would prefer to encourage them to read and learn from successful people that have gone before them and continue doing so for the rest of their lives.
In talking with all different backgrounds of people if I can encourage and help one out of one hundred, just think what that one person can become to society and how many others they may encourage.

    Sincerely,

    Dean Campbell

  2. I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for sharing this content Don. We always need to remember to spend our time with the people who deserve it – not the people who NEED it.

  3. I agree with you, however I think Jack was referring to those who no matter what you do or offer to help them, they always have an excuse and a reason to just do nothing. Sad that so many want to live like that…if you can call it living 🙂

  4. Some people think the world owes them a living, only there to get as much as they can off whoever they can not that I give to receive but these people go missing when they are flush for cash and the second they run out—“hello mate”everyone says look after number one but I’m not built like that I find It hard to say no.

  5. This is true. The people who ‘make it’, weren’t always the ones who had more money but rather whose ‘rich mindset’ enabled them to take action.
Poor people blame money and opportunities. Both are irrelevant. Money can be made a thousand ways. You can sell your TV to make money.
    Opportunities are plenty.
Poor people are poor because of their mindset. This is true poverty.
