Why good people quit network marketing - Apacheleads

Why Good People Quit Network Marketing

You are a business person now.

Sometimes that needs a little time to sink in. Yes, you, you are a business person.

There are many types of business people and businesses, if you are reading this then you are the right type of business person; the type who want success!

Apache Leads was founded in 2003. Over that time, we saw a disturbing trend, a trend which has not changed in all these years of observing it.

Here it is in black and white:

Most Network Marketers Fail

It wasn’t just from my work with Apache Leads that brought this to my attention.  My personal experience with MLM goes back to early 1992 when I was first introduced to the world of Network Marketing and sadly, nothing has changed.  Sure, with the internet recruiting was made easier but, still people failed.

We wanted to know why the majority of networkers fail.

Motivation:  We all know that motivation is a major part of growing a business and most Networkers are very motivated, especially in the beginning, in fact newbies can be way too motivated for their own good. So no it wasn’t motivation.

Product Knowledge:  Networkers all seem to love and use their products because of the mistaken belief you have to love your product to sell it.  You think that dude behind the cash register at McDonalds loves his product?  Once again, no, it’s not a lack of product knowledge.

Lack of Activity:  This is most definitely a major cause for failure.  Clearly if there are no quality prospects being generated and shown the business then failure is a definite result.  That goes for any business on earth, no activity, the business dies. OK so we have found the cause of most failures in MLM.  A plain and simple lack of activity.

Of course, we could easily say, those people are just lazy and deserve to fail.  That would be mostly inaccurate and pretty cruel. Most people desire success and understand it requires work. Sure some are lazy and unmotivated and would rather spend time on the couch watching TV instead of building a future where freedom is the goal.

But what about the others, the ones who are not lazy and are motivated and have a dream

Why do they fail in such large numbers?

After taking hundreds of chats from visitors to the Apache Leads site I feel I have a fairly deep understanding of what is causing these failures.  It boils down to one thing:

MLM Training.

People joining MLM companies come from all walks of life, with a myriad of different experiences, skills, goals and dreams.  Some people are dead broke, others want to get out of their boring career, other love the friendships, some even just love the products.

The one common denominator with every single person who first comes to MLM is that they have zero knowledge or experience at building a Network Marketing business.

Nobody joins up knowing how to do what’s needed to be a success in MLM, nobody.

Have a think about this; how keen would you be to walk into the flight deck of an airbus A380 and fly it from New York to Paris?

Probably not very keen, no matter how motivated you were to get to Paris you are probably going to procrastinate, not take any action and fail to even get started on the journey.  Right?

The difference between you, in this situation, and a qualified A380 Pilot is simply training.

New networkers come from every possible trade and profession imaginable. Some might have experience and training as Sales Reps, Truck Drivers, Nurses, Architects, Managers, consultants, Software Engineers, Astronauts.  It doesn’t matter what experience they have, they do not have Network Marketing experience and training.

So many networkers are (sadly) resistant to investing some time, effort and money into getting trained.  I know it from the responses they give me when I’m on chat with them.  It’s sad because I know it’s just a matter of time before they quit the business, give up their dreams and go back to whatever life they had before the business.

It’s not to do with intelligence, motivation or laziness, it’s just a lack of training.

EVERY Networker should invest 15 minutes a day reading a self-improvement book.
We can all find 15 minutes, failure to read is condemning yourself to continually make the same mistakes over and over.

A great book to begin with is How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Discover thousands of great books which can teach you how to find prospects, how to qualify them, how to make phone calls that work, how to be a leader to your group.  There really is no excuse to bring on your own failure.

You have a proven business model, you have an upline with a vested interest in your success, you have a dream, it’s all in your hands now.

What are you going to do about it?

See you on the beaches!

How to Instantly Connect and Impress Anybody

How to Instantly Connect and Impress Anybody

How to Instantly Connect and Impress Anybody is a key to success in MLM.  In this post I detail exactly How to Instantly Connect and Impress Anybody. In the world of MLM / Network Marketing and Home Business the ability to make a great first impression is a super cool skill to possess.  Most of us are not born with the skill and need to learn it.

Not many people ever believe this about me, but, I’m naturally a very shy person.  I’m really quite awkward at events where I don’t know people.  Even at parties, if I go with someone who knows the people at the party I stick to them like a little kid.  The worst for me is business conferences.  I’m not any good at meeting people and starting a conversation.

The funny thing is, most of my working life prior to becoming an internet dude, I was a Sales Representative.  Every single day I had to fight against my shyness and call prospects, go to meetings, give demonstrations and present myself as a cool, calm, in control professional.

This really took a lot of will power.

To this day I’ve never overcome the shyness but when I need to I just push through it and usually come away with a good result.

The article below really has a ton of golden nuggets to help you make an impression people will remember (in a positive way).  If you employ these tips new people you meet will be impressed with you and think good things.

Pretty important for a networker right?

It sure is, you want to be a master at meeting new people and have them want to spend more time with you, learn more from you and eventually count you as a friend.

Too many people succumb to the mistaken belief that the ability to connect with others is a natural, unteachable trait that belongs to only a lucky few. It’s easy to fall prey to this misconception. In reality, this ability is under your control, and it’s a matter of emotional intelligence (EQ).

Research conducted by Matthew Lieberman at UCLA shows that being social and connecting with others is as fundamental a human need as food, shelter, and water. For example, Lieberman discovered that we feel social pain, such as the loss of a relationship, in the same part of the brain that we feel physical pain.

The primary function of this brain area is to alert us to threats to our survival. It makes you realize how powerful and important social connection is.

We’re hard wired to be social creatures.

MRIs of the brain show that social thinking and analytical thinking involve entirely different neural networks and that they operate something like a seesaw. When you engage in analytical thinking, the social part of your brain quiets down, but as soon as you’re finished, the social network springs back to life.

The social brain is the end of the seesaw where the fat kid sits; it’s our brain’s default setting.

Given that social connection is such a fundamental human need, you’d think that it would be easy to connect with everyone we meet. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Against our own self-interest, we get bogged down by shyness, self-consciousness, cynicism, pride, competitiveness, jealousy, and arrogance.

If you can get that baggage out of the way, you can connect with anyone—even those who are still holding on to their own. Here are some tips that will help you to connect instantly with everyone you meet.

Leave a strong first impression.

Research shows that most people decide whether or not they like you within the first seven seconds of meeting you. They then spend the rest of the conversation internally justifying their initial reaction. This may sound terrifying, but by knowing this, you can take advantage of it to connect with anyone.

First impressions are tied intimately to positive body language. Becoming cognizant of your gestures, expressions, and tone of voice (and making certain they’re positive) will draw people to you like ants to a picnic. Using an enthusiastic tone, uncrossing your arms, maintaining eye contact, and leaning towards the person who’s speaking are all forms of positive body language that high-EQ people use to draw others in. Positive body language can make all the difference in a conversation. It’s true that how you say something can be more important than what you say.

Be the first to venture beyond the superficial.

Our first conversation or two with a new acquaintance tends to be pretty superficial. We portray a careful picture of ourselves, and we stick to nice, safe topics. We talk about the weather and people we know in common and share the most basic details about ourselves. But if you really want to connect with somebody, try upping the ante and revealing the real you. You don’t need to get too personal, but it’s important to let the other person know what you’re passionate about. Most of the time, if you open up, the other person will follow your lead and do the same.

Ask good questions. If the other person seems hesitant to open up, encourage them to do so by asking substantial questions. “What do you do?” doesn’t further the relationship nearly as much as, “Why did you choose your profession?” Search for questions that will help you to understand what makes the other person tick, without getting too personal.

Learn from them.

In the course of his research, Lieberman concluded that our educational system would be much more effective if we tapped into the social side of learning, rather than trying to squash it. For example, the best way to help an eighth-grader struggling with math would be to have him get help from another student. Apply that same principle to your life, and be willing to learn from the person you’re trying to connect with. Not only does that make them feel more bonded to you, it makes them feel important. It also shows that you’re willing to be vulnerable and aren’t too proud to admit that you have much to learn.

Don’t make them regret removing the mask.

If your new acquaintance does you the honor of opening up, don’t make them regret it. Sarcasm, criticism, or jokes that might make the other person feel judged for what they’ve shared are major faux paus. Instead, empathize with their approach to life, which you can do even if you don’t agree with their beliefs, and then reciprocate by revealing more about yourself.

Look for the good in them.

Our culture can often predispose us toward cynicism. We seem to focus on finding reasons not to like people instead of reasons to like them. Shut that cynical voice off, and concentrate on looking for the good in a new acquaintance. For one thing, that keeps you from writing someone off too soon, but more importantly, when you expect the best from people, they’re likely to deliver it.

Smile.

People naturally (and unconsciously) mirror the body language of the person they’re talking to. If you want people to like you, smile at them during a conversation and they will unconsciously return the favor and feel good about you as a result.

Use their name.

Your name is an essential part of your identity, and it feels terrific when people use it. You shouldn’t use someone’s name only when you greet them. Research shows that people feel validated when the person they’re speaking with refers to them by name during a conversation. When you meet someone, don’t be afraid to ask their name a second time if you forget it right after you hear it. You’ll need to keep their name handy if you’re going to remember it the next time you see them.

Follow the platinum rule.

We all know the golden rule, and it’s pretty easy to follow. The platinum rule is harder to follow because it requires us to treat people the way they want to be treated. Not only does doing so make the other person more comfortable—and therefore more likely to open up—but it also proves that you’ve been listening and have really heard what they’ve been telling you. And that shows extra effort on your part.

Don’t make it a contest.

We’ve all seen the stereotypical sit-com scene where two guys in a bar spend the night trying to one-up each other. The same thing happens when you meet someone new. Their accomplishments and life experience sneak up on you and make you feel the urge to make yourself look just as good (if not better). Doing so may stroke your ego, but it doesn’t help you to connect with them. It keeps you focused on yourself when you should be trying to learn about them and find common ground.

Turn off your inner voice.

One giant thing that keeps us from connecting with other people is that we don’t really listen. Instead, we’re thinking while the other person is talking. We’re so focused on what we’re going to say next or how what the other person is saying is going to affect us down the road that we fail to hear what’s really being said. The words come through loud and clear, but the meaning is lost.

You must turn off this inner voice if you want to connect deeply with people. So what if you forget what you were going to say or if the conversation moves in a different direction before you have a chance to make your point. If your real goal is to connect with a person, you have to shut off your own soundtrack long enough to focus on what they’re telling you.

Bringing it all together

The good news is that we’re programmed to connect with each other; we just keep getting in our own way. Try these tips the next time you meet someone new, and watch a superficial conversation turn into a real connection.  Now you know How to Instantly Connect and Impress Anybody

Conclusion

You can do this, there is no doubt in my mind.  Anyone who is determined to be a success, faces many challenges along the way.  Those unwilling to make changes even when it’s uncomfortable fall by the wayside and stay broke and unhappy.

If success was easy, everyone would be successful.  The harder it is, the more money there is as your reward.

Apacheleads - 7 rules to becoming a millionaire

7 Rules to Becoming a Millionaire

I just read a fantastic article written by Daniel Ally and published on Entrepreneur

So much of what Daniel writes really struck home with me.  The paragraph on Explosive Growth in particular reminded me of an enterprise I started in 1995.  The first month we had $2,600 in sales, the next month was $7,000 and the next was $21,000.  In a short time, monthly sales were in excess of $300,000.  It was truly massive growth and came by serving more and more people.

Daniel also resonated with me about hiring the right people, with the best attitudes and aptitudes in your industry.  This is so true and important and by hiring less than that I have often regretted it.

Not only are you in business, you are in business to make money and to help others, your family, friends and associates. Part of everyone’s journey no matter who you are is “the decision”.  At some time, you are going to be confronted with the price you need to pay for success.  You are the one who needs to decide if you are willing to pay it or not.  There is no way around it, the sooner it’s accepted and you begin paying the price the faster your success will come.

This article really does have 7 keys which will be instrumental in your success or failure.  That’s great news and should excite you. This is a clear roadmap for you to adopt and apply to your business right now.  Read on to discover 7 Rules to Becoming a Millionaire.

Imagine if you were a millionaire right now.

You would have practically everything you want. You could enjoy the luxuries of life: the cars, food, clothes, house, and everything else that money can buy. With money comes great respect and friends. Even more, many of your financial worries would immediately evaporate. Money gives you the freedom you’ve always wanted.

In order to achieve this major goal, you must select your tool for wealth and use it to serve a large number people. Whether it’s sports, medicine, or animals, you must find something you can devote your life to and find a way to monetize it.

If your idea is worthwhile, it will cut through competition like a knife through soft cheese. For instance, even with a vast number of bloggers, my articles are still feasted upon by millions of people each month. My secret? Competence and confidence. You need the skills to pay the bills.

The difference between who you are and who you want to be is your competence and confidence.

This means that you are willing to build your skills and confidently apply them to your dreams. For me, it was about sharing practical truths about success. What about you? What will you set out to do and how will you do it?

Before you reach your dreams, there are some mental habits that you’ll want to pick up along the way. Since people ask me about the mindset of being a millionaire, here are Seven Major Rules to Become Massively Rich:

1. Explosive growth.

The typical worker expects a minimal increase in wages every year. In other words, if you made $50,000 this year, the next obvious step would be to aim for $55,000 next year. However, incremental growth won’t make you a millionaire. Instead, you need to aim for explosive growth, like doubling or tripling your income every year.

Explosive growth can only take place when you apply your knowledge. In essence, be eager to learn and challenge yourself.  To be a millionaire in the next five years, you must rise above the daily distractions and pay the price. You must first seek to master yourself, then your business. To grow yourself, you must know yourself.

2. Know your daily rate.

One of my clients was profoundly impacted when I told her about her daily rate. As a doctor, she was convinced of the notion that she was only worth $100,000 per year. However, when I told her that she was worth $400 per day, I showed her how she could make the leap to $1,000 per day.

(To get the daily rate, I divided $100,000 into 250 working days to get $400 per day.)

Once she realized that most of her days were filled with unnecessary tasks, she hired an intern. Since the intern was looking to learn from a doctor, the relationship was mutually beneficial. This helped the doctor save valuable time and money, which multiplied her results. Because this helped her to serve more clients, she now earns over $4,000 per day, which qualifies her as a millionaire.

3. Impact equals income.

If you want to earn one million dollars, you need to help one million people. This means that the larger impact you make, the more money you can take. If you look at the biggest business leaders, you’ll find that many of them have scaled their products and services, which allows them to dramatically reduce their prices and feed the masses.

Like your daily rate, you should find out how many people you impact each day. According to one study, the average person directly reaches about 27 people per day. If this is your number, how can you increase it? With the internet, you have the ability to make a bigger impact, which will give you a bigger income. To raise your income, raise your impact. Those who reach millions of people will make millions of dollars.

4. Enjoy your wealth.

I’ve seen some money teachers say, “If you stop buying a $5 latte every day, you’ll be a millionaire in no time.” I believe this philosophy is horrendously wrong, because it prohibits you from enjoying your wealth. In other words, the person who does this is saying, “I cannot afford a coffee because one day I can be rich!” Completely illogical.

However, what you should be saying is this: “Since I’ve been blessed to have money, let me enjoy my wealth now. While I enjoy this latte, I can think of other ways to earn money so I can get more of these opportunities.”  By fully indulging in the $5 latte, you’re basically saying to the Universe, “More of this please!” If you fully accept this wealthy proposition, your expanding mind will start to produce bigger results.

5. Rule of 100.

People ask me all the time, “How do you get paid to speak?” or “How do you get on or in magazines?” Actually, it’s easy if you consistently challenge yourself to produce the highest and best results. Simply put, if you do 100 of anything, you’ll gain the proficiency to be perceived as an expert. Being perceived as an expert can allow you to charge higher fees for your services.

The key to the “Rule of 100” is to do it within 12 months. For instance, if you read 100 books on a certain subject within 12 months, you would be an expert. If you give 100 speeches in one year, you’ll get paid. If you write 100 articles in 12 months, you’ll get noticed. If you do 100 heavy workouts, you’ll get in physical shape. The rule of 100 applies to most skill-building activities.

6. Align with experts.

To be a millionaire, you must burn the bridges of mediocrity. This means that you’re ready to erase the average people, places, and things, even if they are family or friends. However, this can only happen when you start to align yourself with experts. When you get closer to industry leaders, these average people will automatically dissipate in your life.

Furthermore, the difference between an amateur and a professional is who they hire. Actually, most amateurs won’t get far because they haven’t hired anyone in the first place! If you want to get to the next level, you have to hire the best attitudes and aptitudes in the industry. When you do, your results will be infinitely rewarding.

7. Create new responsibilities.

The secret to success is to create new responsibilities for yourself. Once you create new responsibilities for yourself, you will then create more responsibilities for others. Since you’re adding jobs to the market place, this is called “wealth creation.” Once a person is employed, you get higher results for yourself and your impact is enlarged.

The millionaire is always creating new responsibilities because they always have new ideas to implement. Once these ideas start to overwhelm them, they find employees who can fulfill the request. People are always ready to handle steady tasks for steady pay. In fact, ten percent of the entrepreneurs in the world create responsibilities for 90 percent of employees in the world.

Now that I’ve taken you through a new world of ideas, you need to put them into practice. Which ones will you use? How will you use them? Once you start applying these rules of success, you will reach the rarefied airs of achievement. When people ask you how you did it, be sure to share this article with them!

If you’re reading this, I congratulate you and hopefully you’re feeling as excited as I found myself after reading it.  Very clear, very doable and although, not a guarantee to make you a millionaire, I’m sure you agree; doing the recommended items is going to bring you much closer to your monetary goals and dreams.  Simple stuff; 7 Rules to Becoming a Millionaire.

See you on the beaches!

One of the fastest ways to help you on your journey is to learn how to harness paid traffic.  You can learn it yourself, however it can be quite complex and most people lose a fair bit of money while they learn.  To help you out I made a very easy step by step course which will definitely not break the bank.  Check it out here if you are interested in getting a heck of a lot of traffic to your offer at the best prices.

Elevator Pitch

Do you have a winning "elevator pitch"?

An elevator pitch is what you should be saying anytime someone asks you:

What do you do?”

You need a quick succinct response which fully answers the question in a positive confident manner. Your response should just roll off your tongue and sound interesting.  Under 5 seconds is best.

Here’s an example, For Apache Leads it could be:

“I help business owners get closer to their dreams by helping them expand their businesses by matching them with business opportunity seekers.”

Maybe your business is about saving money on travel, you could say:

“I help people save money on their travel.”

That statement is short and to the point and takes about 2 to 3 seconds to say. It gives enough information to allow them to decide whether they want more information or not. If they want more information, they’ll ask:

“How does that work?”

You could answer with something like this:

“Well you know how people love to travel but to do it right usually is very expensive? Our company helps people save on their travel bills with lower rates. People love saving money, so they start telling others about it. When you do this enough times, the company starts sending you checks in the mail as their way of saying ‘thanks’.

“So imagine that you helped your friends save on their travel bills. Well, the best part is that every time your travel, you make money!”

Easy peasy right? It was short and to the point.

The result is they will either want more information or they won’t.  If they don’t that’s ok, they were not the person you were looking for.

In either case, you simply and succinctly presented your business in just a few seconds. Nobody is upset, nobody is saying no, nobody is getting rejected.

But one thing is for sure, the more people you present to in this way, the more people are going to be in your business and the closer you will be to your dreams

See what I did there, told you I bring people closer to their dreams Interested in a way to automate getting to deliver your elevator pitch?

Prospects who are interested in your elevator pitch will sign up on your lead capture page and will leave you their contact information.

Then they will be redirected to your business presentation.

You follow up with them after the presentation.  Either they will want more information about the business or they will not.  Either they will want to get started or they will not.

It doesn’t matter, you will have achieved your goal of presenting your business to more people, which is the only way your business can grow.

Why? Because that’s the only way you can sponsor new people into your business.

I truly hope this has been helpful.  If it has please share it and like it as that is pretty much paying it forward.

Social Media

Top 6 Social Media Tools for Working Smarter, Not Harder

Greeting Business Builders

Once again I’ve found a really interesting and helpful post on Entrepreneur.  If you’re interested in free tips on growing your business then may I suggest you follow them on Facebook.

This article is full of great apps which will help you master Social Media without taking up all your time, energy and creativity.

Every business, including Network Marketing businesses need to be engaging with prospects, downline, upline and customers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. It’s not really a matter of if you want to do that, it’s a requirement in the 21st century.

These apps below make it simpler for you to do it in a time effective manner.  Hope you get some great ideas and also get excited!

Many businesses are struggling with social media, because it takes up so much time. This is understandable considering that most businesses not only have their digital marketing to manage, but also have to keep up with all other aspects of their business.

We need to stop wasting time on social media and use tools that can help us get it done more quickly. In today’s world, we can rely on a slew of social-media marketing tools and analytics to help us save time and money without having to sacrifice the work.

Here is a list of tools that will ease your social-media workload and allow you to focus on your operating your business.

Socedo

Many people use social media to find qualified leads, but most businesses just don’t have the time and resources to do this manually.Socedo uses technology to automate lead identification and engagement, delivering comprehensive report and sales funnel optimization. Social media is noisy, but this tool is very helpful in cutting through this noise and ensuring you attain your business goals.

SecureMySocial

Every business should have a social-media policy. Social-media policies are designed to keep companies and employees safe from legal and regulatory actions, employment termination, and reputation-management issues. We hear about employees being let go all the time over things posted to social media that violate a company’s policy.

SecureMySocial, a new offering created by cybersecurity veteran, Joseph Steinberg, alerts people in real time if they make social-media posts that may break the law, violate internal-policy guidelines, deface their employer’s brand, or might otherwise harm either the person making the post or their employer. Within seconds of a problematic post being made from anywhere, SecureMySocial can notify the poster with information as to why the post may be problematic and instructions on how to remove the post, or it can even automatically and instantly delete the post if so authorized. This is a potential lifesaver.

Oktopost

Oktopost is a social-media content distribution and management tool. The difference with this tool and others like it is that Oktopost is focused on B2B. Most social-media management tools are focused on B2C, and anyone who works in B2B knows that the two are very different. B2B marketing is an entirely different language, especially in social media and this tool will you determine the actual ROI of your social media campaigns and interactions.

Cyfe

This is one of my favorite analytics tools. Cyfe reports detailed social-media analytics, SEO, AdWords, Google Analytics and brand mentions at a very affordable rate for small businesses. Instead of keeping all of your data in multiple places, you can customize multiple dashboards within Cyfe and compare the date all in one place. We use this for everything, including competitor research, industry research and advertising.

Nuvi

Nuvi is a great way to deep dive into social-media conversations. Nuvi has partnered with DataSift (Human Data Intelligence tool), and DataSift was one of the first partners to access Facebook’s firehose. This means that Nuvi has access to Facebook’s firehose as well!  What does this mean? It means that Nuvi can access and deliver analytics to their users on private and public Facebook posts. The tool will not show you specific user posts or data, but it will give you the analytical data for a topic based on public and private content. Having access to this information makes using Nuvi a must for content marketing and businesses who want insight into what people are privately sayings about their brand or industry.

BuzzSumo

Convenience is everything for a business that is monitoring multiple sites at once. Using BuzzSumo allows you to monitor everything at once. This dashboard allows you to keep track of data like most shared, top authors, content analysis, and items that are trending, allowing you to filter back up as far as one-year. Compare the data from then to now and see the difference. Manage content alerts (in real-time) and know what is working for your company on different social platforms and see how people are reacting to them. You can also use BuzzSumo to trace content back to the original person or people that influenced it. The ability to track influencers is extremely important in social media and BuzzSumo does just that.

Remember, not all of these tools will work for every business, but at least one of them would. Take a look, request a demo and try them for yourself. If it saves us time, it will also save us money. Stop relying on manual labor and take a deep dive into social media time saving tools.

There you go, great stuff from Entrepreneur and many thanks to them for the article.

As business owners, we can all learn from those who have gone before us and made huge successes, one of the most recognizable faces in the world and a giant personality is Sir Richard Branson.  From a middle class English upbringing he has built the Virgin brand into a global empire.  His story is definitely worth learning about.  Following are some excellent tips from an amazing and unique entrepreneur.

Richard Branson has launched more than 100 Virgin companies since starting Virgin as a mail order record retailer in 1970. He’s the only person to build eight billion-dollar companies in eight different industries. Because of his success and enthusiasm, entrepreneurs can definitely learn a lot from Sir Richard.

And one of his greatest lessons is how he treats other members of the Virgin family.

According to Branson, “Many people think that an entrepreneur is someone who operates alone, overcoming challenges and bringing his idea to market through sheer force of personality. This is completely inaccurate. Few entrepreneurs — scratch that, almost no one — ever achieved anything worthwhile without help. To be successful in business, you need to connect and collaborate and delegate.”

There’s actually a lot of truth to that statement. Lennon had McCartney. Jobs had Wozniak. Jordan had Pippen.

So, if you’re looking to follow in the footsteps of Sir Richard Branson, then make sure that you never do the following 8 things. He wouldn’t.

1. Never say “I’m the boss.”

In his book Like a Virgin: Secrets They Won’t Teach You at Business School, Branson states that being “bossy” isn’t a trait that real leaders possess. Branson believes that bosses simply barks out orders, while real leaders organize, motivate and inspire.

“Perhaps, therefore, it is odd that if there is any one phrase that is guaranteed to set me off it’s when someone says to me, ‘Okay, fine. You’re the boss!’” He adds, “What irks me is that in 90 percent of such instances what that person is really saying is ‘Okay, then, I don’t agree with you but I’ll roll over and do it because you’re telling me to. But if it doesn’t work out I’ll be the first to remind everyone that it wasn’t my idea.’”

2. Don’t restrict creative freedom

During an Entrepreneur blog post, Branson said, “You need to give your people the freedom to get creative, to come up with their own ideas and run with them. If someone comes to you with an idea for a business, why not ask that person to launch a startup? Over the years some of our employees’ ideas have resulted in our setting up businesses. This has helped us to enter new markets and, more often than not, succeed. Your company should act as a springboard for ambitious employees, not a set of shackles.”

This was actually backed up by former Virgin exec Alexis Dormandy during an interview with OPENForum. “The creative autonomy is incredible. But that’s after you understand what’s expected and the culture of the organization, and you have to make decisions on that basis. I had the freedom to get things done that you wouldn’t believe, not ever being second-guessed about what needs to be done. It seems almost totally unrealistic.”

3. Always solve problems before they escalate

Never let a problem fester with a partner or team member. Always address the problem before things grow into a huge issue. Keep in mind, sending out an email or text message is often not a good way to handle the situation. Branson believes that you take the time to pick up the phone or walk over to their office to address the situation.

As Branson states, “There is nothing efficient about allowing a small problem to escalate.”

4. Never make a team member uncomfortable

Branson has frequently stated you can’t take yourself too seriously and you should create a fun culture. In fact, Branson has been doing this since his first business venture, a student magazine called Student and during the early days of Virgin Music. How can you create a fun culture? You can start by being passionate, encouraging team members, and having an overall sense of fun in the workplace.

As Branson adds that, “It takes an engaged, motivated and committed workforce to deliver a first-class product or service and build a successful, sustainable enterprise.”

5. Don’t point fingers

When Virgin Atlantic had its inaugural flight in 1984 the plane was forced to make an emergency landing just one minute into the flight due to an engine exploding. A couple of days later, Branson’s banker arrived at his doorstep and informed Branson that he was pulling all funding for the airline. Initially, Branson was looking for someone to blame for the entire debacle. But he realized that as the leader it was up to him to handle the situation.

Instead of pointing fingers, like Branson could have done, you have to accept responsibility for finding a resolution regardless of who you could blame.

6. Don’t back away from a debate

“Over almost 50 years in business, I have learned that having a healthy debate about strategy and direction is vital if a business is to succeed, so I always encourage my colleagues to challenge me and speak up if they disagree with any of our group’s plans,” Branson said.

You’re bound to have disagreements with partners and team members, but just because you don’t see eye-to-eye doesn’t mean that there has to be an argument or something drastic like a letting people go. Having a healthy debate gives each party a chance to voice their opinion and challenge each other.

Richard Branson is famous for saying “Screw it, let’s do it.” A man who always wants to go for it isn’t someone to back off.

7. Don’t be invisible

You often you see Richard Branson out and about. Branson has made it his business to get out there with a notebook to meet employees and customers. He’s recording their ideas and listening to what makes them happy.

Instead of sitting behind a desk all day locked up in an office, you need to get out there like and sell yourself. You’re just not making your business known, you also gathering business ideas from people who have valuable input.

8. Never burn bridges

Partnerships will dissolve. Employees will leave. That’s just a part of the business world. That doesn’t mean that things have to end on bad terms. Remember when Branson wore that flight attendant uniform? That’s because he lost a bet to a former employee turned competitor.

Instead of burning bridges with a partner or team member, part ways as amicably as possible and wish them the best of luck. Not only is that the professional thing to do, it also leaves the door open for you to work together again in the future.

As one of the most successful businessmen in the world, there is plenty to learn from Richard Branson. These suggestions are just a few tips from the great man himself! Is there anything you would add?

MLM Secrets to Success In a New Country

MLM Secrets to Success In a New Country

MLM Secrets to Success In a New Country: Other countries are a great source of new experiences – new food, new languages, and new downlines.  Unfortunately it isn’t always all that easy to create a downline in another country, especially if you don’t know anyone who lives there.

MLM Secrets to Success In a New Country

The best way to break into a new area is to find a MLM Leads Company that offers work at home leads for the area that you’re looking for.  These are qualified MLM leads that have already warmed up to the idea of running a home based business and have requested that someone contact them with an opportunity.

When you expand your downline into a new area there are always things that you are going to want to look out for.

Avoid MLM Lead Companies that entice people into becoming a MLM lead.

Many MLM lead companies will offer an incentive to take their questionnaire and gather their contact information.  This reduces the quality of the lead because they may not be interested in your opportunity at all – they were merely looking to win a new iPod, or other incentive.

Research how they obtained their home based business leads.

Some lead companies have been accused of gathering their leads by taking names out of phone books, retrieving information from website spiders that are designed to collect names and email addresses, or other less than ethical practices.  Be sure that the company that you deal with only uses legal and ethical practices to gather their MLM leads.

How long has the MLM Lead Company been in business?

A company that provides business opportunity leads needs to be prepared to stand behind their product.  If the company has not been in business for very long you will have no way of determining whether they are a ‘fly by night’ operation or not.  Give them a little time to gain some credibility before you invest your money into them.  If they have come highly recommended from a trusted source, then wait for a sale or promotion so you invest less the first time.

Does the MLM Lead Company have a guarantee?

MLM Lead Companies that won’t guarantee their service are giving you a warning flag.  A guarantee shows that the company providing you your work at home leads is ready to stand behind their product – even at their own cost.

Be sure that the business opportunity leads you are buying speak a language that you are fluent in.

One of the hazards of opening your downline into a new country is the language barrier.  If you cannot find a way to clearly and effectively communicate to your MLM leads then how do you expect to be able to understand their needs?  Don’t have faith that your rudimentary skills in their language will be enough – true fluency is required to get your money’s worth out of the MLM leads that you paid for.

Be prepared for some culture shock

This goes for both you and your work from home lead.  You will be calling MLM leads from another culture which can work for you if you do it properly.  They will be interested to know how things are different where you live, and be curious about your country or area.  On the flip side they will want to be reassured that they will get your full support even if they are in another country.  They will also want to know how that support will be effective.

If you take these tips into consideration you will be ready to break into your new country and build your success.  There really isn’t much difference between building a downline and building a downline in another country.  With a little foresight I’m sure you can master any country!

mlm leads duplication is the key to mlm success

Every MLM Business Needs Duplication

I’m sure that you have heard that duplication is the key to all MLM success stories. Duplication is a Key to a Successful MLM or Home Based Business BUT, it’s not the only one.

I don’t want to contradict the ‘gurus’ of the industry but this is only half of the equation.  The saying should be ‘automation and duplication are the keys to success’ – in that order.

The first order of being successful is building your downline.

To do this you need to build a MLM leads list for you to contact.  You could ask your friends and family to refer some friends but this takes a lot of time and doesn’t yield a large result of names for your list.  Before long you will be calling the same people over again forcing them to begin hiding from you.

It’s not a pretty picture and its bloody boring

Remember what I said about automation being part of the equation for success?  This is true on every level.  There are companies that focus on acquiring MLM leads for you. In fact you are at one right now.

These MLM leads request information about making money in a home based business and are looking for someone to get back to them as soon as possible.  This is the first stage in your automation to success.

Once you have your mlm leads, take the next step

If you open an account with a credible email marketing site you can take your automation one step father.  This allows you to put hundreds or thousands of home business opportunity leads into your email system and request confirmation that they are still interested in receiving information about starting a home based business.

This heightens their interest in your opportunity.  I personally don’t recommend this method as it has lots of difficult problems associated with it and email open rates are pathetically low.

But that’s a slow, boring method. Lets kick it up to full throttle!

Join a SMS Messaging company.  Import your leads and send out a compelling text message to thousands of mlm leads.  The open rate of SMS text messages is around 97%, so you know they are going to read it.

full throttle

This course I put together can be used for both SMS Texting and for Ringless Voicemail Messaging.

All three methods of contact will scale your lead contacting to an industrial level and its all done at the press of a button.

The next step is to contact these MLM leads in person so they get to know the person who is going to help them achieve their financial goals.  It is natural for us to want to deal with other people instead of machines and you will find that you will get a higher enrollment rate if you call them.

But if you are generating interest from hundreds of leads, its going to totally exhaust you calling all these leads.

Do what the smart leaders in MLM do; they hire other people to call the leads for them.  The callers follow a proven script and whittle the big list down to a smaller, more manageable list of super qualified leads.

The next best thing is our Real Time Phone Interviewed Leads

You only call / speak to the pre-qualified leads!

During the qualifying calls your callers would have edified you to the moon.  These qualified leads are expecting to be called by a true home business guru and will hang off every word you say.

duplication By Automation

Now, be honest, does that sound better than the way you have been doing this so far?

Everything I’ve mentioned in this article works!

Everything in this article is available from the links on this page

Everything in this article can be DUPLICATED by your group.

Becoming A Master At MLM

Becoming A Master At MLM

Becoming A Master At MLM

Becoming A Master At MLM: Often when you sign on to a home based business opportunity you are told thing like ‘the business grows itself’ or ‘it’s easy to be successful you just need to be persistent.’  I don’t know if these uplines have checked a dictionary but there is a reason they call it ‘persistent.’

Lucky for you it truly isn’t hard to be a master at the MLM industry.  The key to success is in your approach.  The secret to success is knowing your enrollment in this industry is not about you.  I realize that sounds backward because you got involved due to your interests or goals but bear with me and I shall explain.

Your upline contacted one of their MLM leads which ended up being you.  When they spoke to you they told you about their work at home opportunity and how it could benefit you.  If they were smart they did not focus the conversation on themselves or their company.  They probably listened to you more than they spoke about the opportunity.  They made it all about you – their downline.

That approach is key to success in the MLM industry.  When you contact your work at home leads you want to focus on their needs and ambitions.  Once they sign on to your downline you should focus on what it will take to make them successful.  Stay in touch with your downline and help work out any kinks that they come across in achieving their own success.

When your downline is successful you become truly successful.

If you focus your attention on your successes and failures then you become anxious about the next call, or next meeting.  Your MLM leads pick up on this and feel that there is something wrong with your offer even though there isn’t.  What they feel is something wrong with you and they migrate that feeling to the offer in general.

So the first step is to make sure your efforts are about building your downline and then helping your downline become successful.

You build your downline by providing an opportunity for your home based business leads to better their lives.  Explain how your opportunity may help them and let them know that you will be there to support them and help them grow their business.  That is your major function in this industry.

Becoming A Master At MLMOf course to build your downline you are going to need leads, and the faster you get leads that have warmed up to the thought of running a work at home business the faster you can expand your downline.  The fastest way to get qualified leads is through a MLM Lead Company.  You can get hundreds of warm MLM leads that have been pre-qualified as interested in a home based business opportunity.

And that’s not all.  You have the ability to reach thousands of warm leads within minutes using an Auto-responder Lead system, or you can take a more personal approach with sizzling hot Real Time Leads.  Many MLM Lead Companies offer a wide range of MLM leads to suit your business needs.

The second key to being a genius at MLM is knowing what your business is.  Every MLM opportunity offers a product line and you are told that this is your business.  While this may be true your product line is not key to your success – your downline is.

What that means is that your true business is building your downline.  Once you have done that you need to help them become successful at building their own downline.  Then you can focus on developing a marketing campaign on your product line if you wish.

Since you already know how to acquire thousands of warm or hot MLM leads you know how to put yourself in a position to explode your downline.  This also means that you know what to tell your downline in order to explode their downline.

Congratulations, you are now have the foundation to Becoming A Master At MLM!
